Howdy folks!
Again, apologies on my absence, been a heck of a year! Been traveling and healing from injuries and flare ups.
First, let me state that if you do NOT feel your Rheumatologist is not listening, addressing concerns, saying that they're probably going to start you on a new therapy and never do, LEAVE THEM!! Unless they are the only one in a hundred mile radius, find a new one that will listen and act! Just saying as my last two appointments, I was told that because of an anaphylactic reaction to Rituxan, I would not be able to try any other Biologic. Twice. My last appointment, Hubby went in with me and he posed the same questions, only to get the same response. So, buh-bye!!
My new Rheumatologist was recommended to me by my PCP. He's awesome! He did a ton of tests, x-rays, etc. He started me on Xeljanz. I tried it for several months, but didn't receive any benefits from it. Even had a flare up just before I stopped taking it. He recently prescribed Orencia. By the time I received it, I started having a string of infections and then traveled. I'm hoping to start it this weekend on Sunday. I'm choosing Sundays to start it/use it as if there is a serious reaction, Hubby will be home with me to help with an Epi pen and get me to the ED.
Just wanted to share my most recent RA experience. Hope it helps and TTFN!!
