Ghirardelli Brownie Recipe Review, Updates, 04/29/2021

Good morning all! It's 65F and rainy here but so verdant!! I'm really so thankful for Spring! Unfortunately, ended up with some allergies (new one for me!) and then bronchitis. Anyway, been great weather here. I've been able to leave the greenhouse open as its been above 60F at night. Here's how they're looking now.

The top picture in the orange pods are my mom's tomatoes I've been trying to rescue. They were overwatered and weren't getting enough sunlight. On the far left of the same picture is one of my houseplants that hasn't been fairing so well. I guess that's what happens when you leave a teenager in charge of getting the plants watered! The bottom photo is a box that I am trying to get more cabbage out of. I'm concerned that I only have about 6 plants but so many things can happen I want to have more for backup. Last year it was too hot for the cabbages and they never came to head. I'm hoping this year I can be more proactive (and not laid up from shingles!) to be able to cover them. We picked up more soil and should have the rest of the equipment for the watering system expansion, so more pictures when we start that.

Okay, so now for the reason why we are here today! Yesterday was said teenager's 16th birthday! Since we are camping and celebrating there, I didn't want to do too much here. But I still want him to know how much he is loved and appreciated, so I did a small bit. We had "fancied up" frozen Red Baron pizzas. I added pork sausage that I seasoned and bacon to his. He loved it!

Instead of making another cake, I decided on brownies. If you've been reading my posts, you know I've gone on about discovering Ghirardelli's Dutch Process Cocoa. Since then, I've been purchasing more of their products. Last night I found their recipe for the Ghirardelli Classic Chocolate Brownies. Oh my!!! The recipe was very well written out and easy to follow. That made me feel good as I've seen so many baking shows where the stovetop melted chocolate ends up decimated. Not the case here! Their recipe describes how to do this without a problem. My big tip for this recipe though is to measure everything out first so you DON"T get distracted while heating the chocolate!

The recipe calls for the semi-sweet chocolate bar and chocolate chips.

Melting the chocolate and butter over the water actually was not difficult at all.

And my preference for flour is the King Arthur Unbleached All Purpose

Perfect bake!

This brownie is so moist and decadent!

Here is the link for the recipe. Take a look around their site, especially at all the yummy recipes there.

That's all for now! Looking forward to see if anyone else tries the recipe.

Take care and God Bless!!
