Good afternoon all! Boy, what a morning so far! Had a 0900a.m. doctor appointment and returns to the stores from shopping Saturday.

We had several storms last week with a lot of wind, so my poor greenhouse was torn apart. There is a plan in place though. We already had some stakes for the bottom, but now we are looking to use loop/hook tape to wrap around all the joints to better reinforce the frame. The ties were pulled from the plastic, but should be able to replace those. I went outside a little while ago and made another decision - moving the greenhouse. At the end of where I am adding a few more beds and between 2 apple trees I have a space about the size of the greenhouse. The beauty of this is that this is also where I moved the compost. My plan is to wrap the bottoms metal tubes with plastic to protect them from corroding, remove the bottom shelves and let the compost heat the greenhouse. The temps are still pretty low at night so I am hoping this will help. I'm also looking to get a cheap thermometer/hygrometer to help ensure I am keeping everything at the needed levels. I found one on Amazon for about $10, so considering it. After we get it moved and set up, I will share new pictures of it, hopefully with the seedlings in it! Also discussed with hubby about using the plastic barrels we got a few years ago. The plan was for 2 of them to be rain collectors and one for compost. With moving the greenhouse and heating it with the compost, I want something to break it down and be a little more user friendly than just chucking with a pitchfork.

I also last week tore apart an afghan my mom had given me. This was a granny-style rectangular afghan that spanned the back of the sectional sofa set she had. It ran the whole length!

I realized a few weeks ago it had a rather large hole in the center of it. Even though the yarn is still available and it's possible to repair it, the size was just not practical for my chair. Several hours of frogging it,

I came up with hopefully a good plan.

Since it's a multicolor yarn, I didn't want too elaborate of a pattern. I kicked around a few ideas and went to Pinterest. Bobbles are pretty and very easy to create. It adds texture without overshadowing the yarn. I'm trying to make a diamond pattern across it and hopefully my math is working out! As soon as I get it done (and attractive), I will write it out and post the pattern.

All right, it's getting close to be starting dinner and I'm still behind on cleaning. I had a flare up last week that is still taking its toll - my hands are still hurting, especially my thumbs. Still having that almost flu-like feeling but slowly going away. My doc took me off of the twice a day diclofenac to taking it as needed as well as the diclofenac gel to use as needed on the joints. They both really help and I think they got me through most of the pain, but not the house cleaning!

So, take care all and God Bless!!
