Pineapple Upside Down and My First Quilt
Good evening! It has been a bit! So past almost 2 weeks has been a little crazy for me. Trying to get from day to day still takes some work, stupid brain! But, still plugging away! As able, I like to try to bake a few things for the family to enjoy. My daughter complained recently that everything was sugar free and that she wanted a "normal" treat. So, found a few decent recipes on All Recipes. This has been my go-to app for recipes of late. I found a few and picked one...
Turned out very yummy!! The recipe was labeled as Pineapple Upside-Down Cake from Scratch. So, if you're in the mood, worth a shot.
Spring has definitely been in full swing. I enjoy seeing the world come to life, with all of the colors, smells and sensations. In front of the house we have poppies blooming. I love how the petals look like delicate crepe paper.
I think I will try water colors again to see if I can come close to these, so pretty.
But mainly have been pre-occupied with trying to keep my mind and hands busy. With all the recent health issues, I think being busy helps to a degree. Yes, some frustrations involved, but also a few victories. I had ordered the yarn for the afghan I was playing with a couple of weeks ago that arrived today. Unfortunately, I ordered the wrong color. On the positives, with the help of my mom, she was able to help me finish my first quilt that I had started a couple of years ago.
Sorry, not the best image, I tried to clear out some of the background noise and brighten it a bit. When I get a few minutes and not so late, I'll try to get a better image. I used a few jelly rolls from Hobby Lobby for this. Will need to get some more pictures, the back is a lovely grey and white paisley print. Mom helped a lot, especially with the border. I had picked up some of the pre-packaged bias tape but she kindly made this from the back fabric and showed my how to blind stitch it in place.
Well, all I've got for tonight! Have a great rest of your evening and God Bless!!
