Wilton Snow White Buttercream Recipe Review

Image
Good afternoon all! My daughter turned 22 last week and we decided to celebrate it over the weekend due to her work schedule. A lovely meal Saturday night and having cake and ice cream Sunday evening. Her request for a cake was a lemon cake with drizzle but covered with lovely flowers. Since the week was really hectic, I saved some time and picked up a lemon cream cake from one of the local grocers. Flowers. I checked a few places and out of stock online. Instead of spending too much time trying to find edible flowers, I decided to give my hand at decorating the cake. Best I can describe my skill is that, well, how about meddled with decorating? I watched a few YouTube videos and went to work. I saw a few different recipes, some were touting the easy of piping with a cream cheese type frosting. Mmm, maybe. Italian cream? A little scary for the amount of time if I fudged it up. Then I came across the Wilton site (where I was also looking at what piping tip does what) and found their Sno...

Pumpkins for Pam, New Pattern!

Hi all! It's been waaay too long since my last post!! But, I've been a bit busy here, working on my sewing machines and crafting (and gardening, selling eggs, kid out of school, getting ready for camping and so forth!!). I wanted to share this, my latest pattern! Since we haven't been able to have quilt guild meetings, a small group of us, after getting our vaccines, started to meet at each others houses. As a hostess gift, I started making during our meet ups, spool pin doilies. Since we all sew, I figured these would be great gifts and so far, well received. I usually just free hand a pattern while I'm there to make it more special to the person I'm giving it to. Recently, we went to a fellow guild member's home, Pam. Her home is so decorative! Throughout, it's adorned with pumpkins in some craft form. Quilts, quilted wall hangings, paintings, small felted accent pillows and so on. And I am a huge pumpkin lover! We all live near Circleville, Ohio, which is...

Cake Pops, Quilt Guild, 05/06/2021

Good afternoon all! Wow, I can't believe this week is almost over! Spent Monday cleaning and repacking from our camping trip. Found that there are a few things I need to get to make camping and cooking go a little smoother. I picked up a nifty plastic measuring cup with a small measuring spoon set for a few dollars and a pack of dish scrubbers at WallyWorld. We did something a little different with our camp chili this time. I had a pack of ground beef that I took but also had picked up some Keystone Ground Beef. Granted, it does look a little like dog food (okay, well, maybe more than a little!) but Sean said it tasted very good in the chili. So, that will be a repeat for future camping trips. You can get that from WallyWorld or from Meijers. I believe you can also order from Amazon, just make sure you do a good price comparison before stocking up on it. They also have pork, beef, turkey and chicken. I've been getting the chicken and I have to say it's one of the few canned...

Good afternoon all! What a week!! Last week was our son Daniel's birthday. We've been spending his birthdays camping and he enjoys it. I think he likes that he has our full attention and we try to do things he likes. For this post, I will just be sharing our camping weekend with you in pictures. I know most of these are the same from previous posts, but wanted to share the park upgrades since then. After we set up Friday, we went to one of our favorites for dinner, Fred's Pizza in Waverly, Ohio. Great food, seriously! We dined in that night, first for us. Daniel played some arcade games there. Afterward, back to the campsite.... We had gotten him a similar cake a couple of years ago and he never stopped going on about it. Loved we were able to order this and surprise him with it. My morning walk on Saturday.... I never tire of this view. So calming to have this as one of the first things you see when you start your day. We spent most of the day playing cornhole. We got a go...
