Today and Tomorrow, Or Yesterday!!

Image
Today has been one of those days that you're just not too sure about. It seems like a perfectly okay day, nothing too great nor too terrible. I hate that I feel like I didn't get a lot accomplished today. I probably spent more time working on my afghan than I realized.  The afghan, poor thing! I found a few squares started and a few skeins of the yarn I believe at a yard sale. I hate seeing UFOs thrown to the wayside so it went home with me. A few years later, finally able to make some progress on it. I changed that I switched the squares so that the main colors alternate and added a darker green for a border. Today, I also am trying a major change to it!   As far as I can get for now until I can get some more yarn ordered. Mom and I have just been working on crochet projects until she gets done rearranging her sewing room. We will be getting back  to making more rag tie blankets then. And I understand the craft mall is open again, so we will need to get our stuff togethe...

May The Fourth Be With You!

Wow, it's been a few days since my last post! Going over in my mind all that's happened over these days. Last Thursday put a damper on the rest of my week. Had a small flare up, joint pain, headaches etc. Didn't really start feeling better until late Sunday. Think it was the weather and pressure changes. Mom and I did manage to go out Thursday around lunch time to do a short walk in the woods. Very tasty! Mom fried most of them up. That really big one in the center was minced for cream of mushroom soup. We all sat and had dinner that night, very nice! The rest of the week was trying to maintain. Hubby got a few totes and a couple of boxes from the storage unit - we need to get that cleaned out and save money! He got us some soil for the garden. Some of the containers were a little low. So much needs to get done out there! Hopefully we have some nice weather that the kids can help get the containers ready for planting. It's frustrating to not do everything on m...

Following the Weekend... (04/27/2020)

So its Monday.... And trying to remember the weekend!! It was a little hectic Saturday. Worked a little bit on the garden. I began switching to a container garden two years ago when it started to get harder for me to keep up on the regular garden. Last year, I did a full container garden, so this year, its more of a maintainence and improvement. We added an irrigation system last year called Rain Bird brand that Menards carries. Added a timer that had a volume control and worked out pretty well. The biggest issue with the garden last year was the periods of high temps. Its been frustrating this year in trying to get the seeds started. I've had several seedlings die, totally my fault! I forgot that the soil I had was for the container garden and that it maintained a high level of water, so, desimated them! Restarted them but did not get the seeds marked as to what is in what pot. It will be interesting as my dad would say! The stay at home has been a little trying in not being abl...

Another Day, 04/23/2020

And another day! After all the weather changes, my neck and shoulders feel like I had a three hour workout while I slept. Late getting up and dragging. A few (several) minutes of my SWGOH and new one, Emmas Adventure California, time for chores! Takes a bit to wake up, so I guess my bit of game play is just that. Take the dog outside, take care of the chickens. My son is supposed to be caring for them but getting him to do that, HA! The stay at home order I guess gives him the excuse to live the "life of leisure". I'm not really complaining, too much. I need and appreciate the movement, the walk to get out a bit more than I have of late. I finish, brew a cup of decaf and off to spend my hour with dad, or as I call him, Pops. We try to spend week mornings over a cup, we joke that we're solving the problems of the world. Precious time, with our families. Especially as we age. I can't imagine not taking the opportunity to spend with my parents, especially given their...
