Update on RA, 11/15/2024

Howdy folks! Again, apologies on my absence, been a heck of a year! Been traveling and healing from injuries and flare ups. First, let me state that if you do NOT feel your Rheumatologist is not listening, addressing concerns, saying that they're probably going to start you on a new therapy and never do, LEAVE THEM!! Unless they are the only one in a hundred mile radius, find a new one that will listen and act! Just saying as my last two appointments, I was told that because of an anaphylactic reaction to Rituxan, I would not be able to try any other Biologic. Twice. My last appointment, Hubby went in with me and he posed the same questions, only to get the same response. So, buh-bye!! My new Rheumatologist was recommended to me by my PCP. He's awesome! He did a ton of tests, x-rays, etc. He started me on Xeljanz. I tried it for several months, but didn't receive any benefits from it. Even had a flare up just before I stopped taking it. He recently prescribed Orencia. By ...

2024, Another Year....

Hey all! Well, here we are and its my first post for the year. Sad to say that, but with all that's happened over the past 3 years, I'm a bit surprised I'm making a post now! Recap of the past few years... In 2022, we lost a very dear and close family member. It was very painful. Purchased a used longarm in between all the time at the hospital and before the funeral. Lots of fun trying to haul in in my Dad's pickup bed! (Okay, bit of sarcasm but was thrilled!). Had the funeral and stayed out of state with family to get things addressed and planning. But also, no garden. 2023, back out of state due to family member suffered a fall with serious injuries. I stayed for beck and call while she healed. Sad to say that 2023 was a bit of a blur, passed so quickly! But sadly, again, no garden. 2024! So the year kind of blindsided us. Waited for it to warm up to get work done in the attack, but suffered an injury for working up there too long. Couldn't get a lot done because...

Past Few Months, 08/08/2022

Hey all! Wow, could not believe how long its been since my last post! Believe that was back in April. Now into August, autumn is just around the corner and I can't wait! I really haven't been able to get much accomplished over the months. So, here is my summer breakdown. 1. We took our camper and went on vacation at the end of May. We stayed in Charlotte, NC at the Fort Mill KOA. It was decent. We only stayed at the KOA to give my joints (and nerves!) a break to spread the trip out. The next day we went into town and explored a bit. Lunch was at Oh My Soul on N. Davidson. It was pretty good food! We walked around a bit more and checked out some of the shops. Afterward, we went to Emerald Hollow Mine. We truly enjoyed it. Found some neat stones but unfortunately we have not had the time to really go through what we have! But we do have the winter coming...  Back on the road to Fort Wilderness. The campground was decent. Sites are smallish, but not overly cramped. Full hook-up, w...

Socks Done, 04/03/2022

Hey all! Getting to wrap up our stay here in Indiana. My husband attended a conference and I came along for the ride. Okay, more importantly to escape from home! Peace and quiet, so needed! During our stay (we're on our 3rd day) I was able to finish my house socks, arrange a cross stitch project and relax. Though I admit I rushed getting the socks done and a couple of errors, which I will NOT go back to fix. It's a little cool in here and I usually sleep in socks at night but didn't grab an extra pair for that, so, socks! But oh my, they are cozy! Can't wait to get started on the Christmas socks. And I believe my husband has officially regretted letting me pick the room. Sorry, can't help it. This is just waaay to funny to not use repeatedly! Every time we leave I can't find our room!!  Okay, still too funny! I need to move on or will be stuck with that. Weather out here has not been the best. Been chilly and rainy since we got here. Joints are achy, but manag...
