Socks Done, 04/03/2022

Hey all! Getting to wrap up our stay here in Indiana. My husband attended a conference and I came along for the ride. Okay, more importantly to escape from home! Peace and quiet, so needed! During our stay (we're on our 3rd day) I was able to finish my house socks, arrange a cross stitch project and relax. Though I admit I rushed getting the socks done and a couple of errors, which I will NOT go back to fix. It's a little cool in here and I usually sleep in socks at night but didn't grab an extra pair for that, so, socks! But oh my, they are cozy! Can't wait to get started on the Christmas socks. And I believe my husband has officially regretted letting me pick the room. Sorry, can't help it. This is just waaay to funny to not use repeatedly! Every time we leave I can't find our room!!  Okay, still too funny! I need to move on or will be stuck with that. Weather out here has not been the best. Been chilly and rainy since we got here. Joints are achy, but manag...

Guild BOTM 2022, 02/17/2022

Good morning all! We're into February, halfway through, and I JUST started to seriously get my blocks made. The BOTM program this year is that 2 patterns are given to you for the first few months, until you have all 12. Bonus block patterns are provided with the 2 in case you want to make a larger quilt. Sign up was in December for this and we were given our first set of patterns January. Each month, you have to take in or send pictures of the blocks to the person running the BOTM. Each block you don't have finished costs $1.00. (Sigh) guess who forked out $2.00?!? Okay, well, its not like I didn't make a stab at it. I kept misreading the patterns and making incorrect cuts. Then I walked away from it. This week, I was able to take some time to start working on them again. Which is kind of questionable, since I have a sinus infection and not feeling the best. Guess it is taking my mind off of it and the associated pain and discomfort. So, here is my first block. I haven'...

Winter! 02/03/2022

Good afternoon all! Partially through our winter storm here and everything is covered in ice! I am so thankful for this. This past year, I've been reminiscing about how we used to have storms with freezing rain. And now we have it!!  I remember when we would go see my grandparents and the headlights would hit the ice on the trees, just looked so magical! I know my family isn't as thrilled about it, except for my son since they are having snow days. Anyhow, working on a new design. We are into the new year and spring is just around the corner. I've decided to use my Mandala yarn for a new pretty spring sweater. The colors... As soon as I get a little closer on the design and pieces for it, I will share. So far, I'm liking how it is coming out. Maybe too much so, I've only changed the design four times as new ideas keep popping in my head. Oh, and I'm crocheting it. Well, think I'm done sharing today. I want to get some more food prepped before we lose power...

Sock It To Me! 01/05/2022

Good morning all! Some crazy weather this past couple of weeks here in the Heart of it All. Strong winds today and possible snow storms tomorrow. Personally can't wait; was never a fan in my middle years of snow and cold weather but now I look forward to it. Not sure if its an age appreciation or all the hot flashes that make it more tolerable. Christmas was odd, rained that week, which was concerning since it was rainy the Christmas of '78, the year of the blizzard. Let me add to forgive me for the grammar and all - my brain has not been very cooperative the past few days. Tomorrow is the quilt guild monthly meeting and I'm worried if I will have issues then as well.... Anyhow, yes, sock it to me! When fall comes along I start thinking about socks. Yes, not as much as the cooler weather, the colorful leaves, the spooky nights, but also about my fall wardrobe and socks. My go-to outfits in fall are tunics, paired with leggings and knee high boots. Or a cute sweater, nice ...
