Sock It To Me! 01/05/2022

Good morning all! Some crazy weather this past couple of weeks here in the Heart of it All. Strong winds today and possible snow storms tomorrow. Personally can't wait; was never a fan in my middle years of snow and cold weather but now I look forward to it. Not sure if its an age appreciation or all the hot flashes that make it more tolerable. Christmas was odd, rained that week, which was concerning since it was rainy the Christmas of '78, the year of the blizzard. Let me add to forgive me for the grammar and all - my brain has not been very cooperative the past few days. Tomorrow is the quilt guild monthly meeting and I'm worried if I will have issues then as well.... Anyhow, yes, sock it to me! When fall comes along I start thinking about socks. Yes, not as much as the cooler weather, the colorful leaves, the spooky nights, but also about my fall wardrobe and socks. My go-to outfits in fall are tunics, paired with leggings and knee high boots. Or a cute sweater, nice ...

FINISHED! BOTM Topper, 11/17/2021

Howdy all! Wow, what a past 2 months!! Busted butt and a little help from my mom, finally got my quilt guild BOTM topper finished. The guild meeting is in, what, less than 3 weeks and just really wanted to have it finished to avoid any last minute problems. Looking back I guess June was the last block I had shared. So, my apologies for the massive gap of not sharing. Here it is.. Was just so glad to get the topper done! I will still need to quilt it but need to decide what fabric to use as backing. Can't wait to see what the new challenge is going to be like! Take care all and God Bless!

New Crochet Project FINALLY Done! 11/15/2021

Good morning on this fine blessed Monday! Okay, a little chilly, but still a fine blessed day! Anyhow... I FINALLY finished my Popcorn Tin Christmas Tree pattern today!! It took me about, well, I'm not sure but I would say several months for this project. I did get assistance from my dad and those are his hands and tools in the images. And I have to thank my parents as well for picking up some of the items from the store for me as well. Not getting out as much like I used to, so need some extra assistance anymore. I will be listing this on Ravelry and Etsy, so will have either option available. It kills me that a) people want so much money for their patterns, which I only list mine for $1 and b) that I have to list to sell. I had hoped for more traffic to the blog to offset costs, but sadly never happened. Anyhow, here is one of the images of the finished product! I have been working on a crochet garland to put around it as well. Probably will be making another for the other side o...

June BOTM (Finally!), 09/27/2021

Good afternoon! I FINALLY got my June block done for the quilt guild BOTM challenge!! So excited about it! I had conceived the idea back in June, but it did take some time to get my items to create it. That plus the decisions of how to implement the idea to a design I was happy with. So, here it is! This is for Fathers Day. This block consists of a men's long sleeve dress shirt and tie that I got at a thrift store. I had actually picked up a few ties so I could decide which would work better with my shirt. I had even did a simple knot to ensure that I would have the correct height and angle for the tie to lay. I laid the collar points off just a bit to have a more "dad" look to it. The block is 12.5 x 12.5. I've been kicking around ideas of how I will be finishing the quilt and will probably have borders around the blocks. I am thinking of even having the months sewn into those borders to add a little more to it. Okay, so on to July now. Will share as soon as I comple...
